Atlanta

After a 5th place qualifying run, Parker Kligerman and the Big Machine Vodka Spiked Light Coolers team ran up front for all but the last lap in Atlanta at the second race of 2024.

Ryan Sieg ran out of fuel on Lap 161 of a scheduled 163 race and stopped on the track in Turn 4. The caution extended the race by six laps.

“I don’t know that we ran out of fuel,” said Parker Kligerman after the race. “Maybe there was air in the pick-up. I saved fuel the entire run. When we running 4th and 5th, I ran half throttle. With 20 to go, I started going faster to force the cars ahead of us to speed up and we were going a half second faster each lap. I went to the throttle on the restart and it just died. Then it came back when I was coasting to pit road.”

The team finished 19th and moves 7 spots in the points, up to 15th place.

Next up, Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The green flag flies Saturday at 5:00 p.m. eastern on FS1, with radio coverage on Sirius XM channel 90 and PRN.

Notes of Interest:

Parker finished P4 last March and P8 in July at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

“Although in Daytona we didnt get the result we had hoped for.,” says Parker Kligerman, “We did have a very fast Big Machine Spiked Light Coolers Chevy. That meant we were able to score a decent amount of points in stage one. With this, we left one spot higher in points than last year, so progress!”

“Because of this speed and our record at Atlanta, the whole team has been in great spirits this week knowing we have a chance to go win. Most of all we want to continue to rack up the stage points, so we can be as aggressive as we need to be late  in the race to win. I really have enjoyed the races at Atlanta and it seems the surface is wearing fairly quickly which means handling will continue to matter more. Can’t wait to get there and show our speed once again!”
