QUOTES

JADE BUFORD, DRIVER OF THE NO. 48 BIG MACHINE VODKA SPIKED COOLERS CAMARO
“Kansas is the last oval on the Xfinity Series schedule that I haven’t been to before, so I’m eager to check that box on the list and have that notebook of all the tracks. I have been to Kansas before for sports car racing and had some success there, but that was on the road course. I’m hoping we can make it a good one this weekend and try to finish out the year on a positive note these last three races.”

NOTES

KANSAS FIRST TIMER: This Saturday, Jade Buford will make his first NASCAR Xfinity Series start on the oval of Kansas Speedway. The 33-year-old NXS rookie has competed on Kansas Speedway’s road course before, running in the Grand-Am SFP Grand Prix in 2013 where he captured the pole award for the race.

Buford made his first-ever start on an oval this season, placing 20th at Homestead-Miami Speedway. This season on 1.5-mile tracks like Kansas Speedway, the Big Machine Racing driver has put together four top-20 finishes.

BUFORD TO HONOR A CANCER HERO AT KANSAS: Jade Buford and the Big Machine Racing team will honor Big Machine Distillery employee Sharon Ashmore during Saturday’s race at Kansas Speedway. Ashmore, who is currently in remission for melanoma cancer, is a vital member of the Distillery’s sales team. Her name will replace Buford’s above the door as part of The NASCAR Foundation and Martin Truex Jr Foundation’s Honor a Cancer Hero Program.

JOHN 5 ON MAYER’S MARTINSVILLE CAMARO: On Tuesday it was announced that Big Machine-sponsored driver Sam Mayer will have legendary guitarist John 5’s newest album featured on his No. 8 JR Motorsports Chevrolet. John 5’s album “Sinner” comes out Friday, Oct. 29. See the full paint scheme here and find out how to pre-order the album here.
